9 Sept 2008

Went to see Doc yesterday. The pus condition has improved. Thank God! There is less pus and its drying up fast. Doc says the pus culture shows that it is just a skin infection. I would like to thank everyone who were praying for me on this matter.

My diaper condition has not improved. Doc says these are the effects of RT. It will take a couple of weeks. I'm such a big baby. My aunt (who has came back from Australia just to look after me) changes my diaper every few hours. Some of you might remember that my aunt looked after me when I was 2 till I went to kindergarten.

I will be admitting to the hospital today. My blood count is all time low at 6.6. That explains my paleness and weakness. I need to stay in for blood transfusion. Just for 1 day.

Over the past months, I've developed a phobia for needles. There was once, I was poked 6 times just to get the IV plug fixed. It wasnt because of inexperienced nurses/docs. My veins has grown very thin, some of them has collapsed. Therefore, it is very difficult to fix IV plugs. I dont want to be poked anymore.

There is a cream the nurses can apply for you before setting the plug. It will help to numb the area b4 insertion so that you won't feel the pain so much. ask the docs or nurses, they normally use it for little children.-Seline

Happy to see you blogging again. At least we all know your status now. The needle thing.. just see it as a way to getting you recover. Or divert your attention (with a help from friend?) when they are poking.. ? Stay strong ok! I know you are! Don't give up! Valerie.

Shandy,

Be strong and fight on!

Always remember Mother Teresa's Thoughts on Life:

"Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it."

~ Mother Teresa

God Bless!

Shandy, remind yourself of Mother Theresa's thoughts on life.Chris is right! They are true and enlightening.
A person can ONLY THINK OF ONE THING AT A TIME.When you think about them, you won't think of depressing stuff;needles, pain, uncertainties.

Shandy, Auntie Moonie here. I have been down with flu and cannot visit you till I am better.
I know the treatment is very tough on you but I want you to know that you are loved by each and everyone of your family and friends and above all by God. Everything happens for a reason and only God knows His purpose for you. We do not know what the future holds but we do know who holds the future. Therefore, be patient, obey your doctors' advice, rest well, eat well (please do not eat fast food, oily food, etc, eat lots of vegetables, fruits, fish, go on soft diet on weak days and eat more during the stronger days. Stay cheerful. Laughter is a good medicine. Auntie Moonie is a breast cancer survivor and has gone through the feelings of hopelessness and helplessness but throughout, God sustained me. If you wish to have Jesus in your life, say the following simple prayer: Jesus I know I have sinned. I know you die to wash away my sins. I accept you as my Lord and Savior. Please come into my life. Please heal me and make me whole again. Thank you Jesus. In your precious name I pray, Amen. When you have said this prayer. please share the good news with me. Love you always, Auntie Moonie
